Lumley Insurance Limited offer a range of policies designed to protect your income, including Income Protection, Loss of Licence (Lump Sum) and Personal Accident Insurance (which can be extended to include your spouse). You can also join the Independent Pilots Association specialist Legal Expenses policy at a very competitive premium.

All policies have been designed to be flexible in terms of the cover available and are specific for the pilot community. Applications are all made online with bespoke quotations issued directly to you.

Legal Expenses – provides legal expertise up to a limit of up to £125,000 to defend your legal rights in certain circumstances and includes 24-hour round-the-clock legal advice over the telephone on any matter.

Pilot Income Protection - pays a pre agreed monthly benefit after a pre agreed waiting period should you be unable to carry out your normal occupation as a pilot due to injury or illness. The status of your licence is not taken into consideration and the total benefits received, including any employer paid benefits, must not exceed 85% of your average nett monthly salary and the maximum cover that you can purchase is £ 5,000. Cover would cease at the age of 65 or you return to work, whichever the sooner.

Loss of Licence (Lump Sum) - pays a pre agreed lump sum benefit in the event that your licence is permanently revoked or insurers are satisfied that due to ill health or accident, you will not regain your medical certificate within 5 years of the disability. Cover is available up to a maximum of £200,000 and the premium will depend on your age as this policy is age rated.

Personal Accident - pays a pre agreed lump sum should you (or your spouse if cover has been extended) suffer from one of the conditions noted in the policy - Death, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of both eyes, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye, Loss of two limbs, Loss of one limb, Total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one eye and loss of one limb, Permanent Total Disablement (other than total and irrecoverable loss of sight of one or both eyes or loss of limb(s). The maximum level of cover available is £250,000, with £125,000 cover for a spouse.
