Thinking of becoming a self-employed pilot?

The IPA has recently secured full settlement of a case involving a pilot flying a private jet on a contract, rather than as an employee, where the company refused to pay holiday monies owning after the aircraft was relocated. These are complicated cases as they involve contracts between various business entities and cross border jurisdictions. Any pilot entering a new contract whether as an employee or a contractor is encouraged to always have us check it over for them to ensure its efficacy and value to our member. Never accept employment unless you have a written contract as it is often too late to resolve things once they have gone wrong.
